*For the candidate statement, please discuss your career objectives and why you believe the University of Chicago and PME’s Master of Engineering program are a good fit. In 1,000 words or fewer, your candidate statement should:
- Describe how this program will help you to achieve your mid-term and long-term
professional goals. - Describe how your previous academic training, research, internship/volunteer or
professional experiences have prepared you to be successful in this program. - Share any challenges you faced, personal attributes you employed to face those
challenges, and how the experience helped clarify or impacted the goals you're
pursuing.

Application Hardship Request Policy
Applicants for whom a recent disaster or other, major widespread disruption (such as COVID-19) has impacted their ability to complete their application should view the University Hardship Request policy and if necessary submit a formal request.
