Public Outreach Events

One way the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering engages the community in our research is by participating in numerous public events in which we delve into the emerging field of molecular engineering with the public and inspire the exploration of STEM careers.

Look for Pritzker Molecular Engineering presenters, volunteers, and graduate student ambassadors at these events in the Chicago area.

South Side Science Festival

The South Side Science Festival is an annual event that brings the South Side and UChicago communities together for a day of fun outdoor science exploration, inspiring exchanges with faculty and student researchers, live experiments and demonstrations, food, music, and more. Each year, festival goers can try dozens of hands-on science activities, learn from experts in the Science in Your Life panels, test their science knowledge and engineering skills in trivia games and design challenges, and cheer as scientists are challenged to share their work in fun ways in the Science Slam and Upgoer 5 competitions. With events and activities for all ages and experience levels, everyone can learn something new. PME STEM Showcase @ the Museum of Science and Industry

These informal learning experiences engage museum visitors in activities that explore how molecular engineering research impacts their lives. Read about the Spring 2024 event here!

Science Works

This career exploration event invites youth and families to learn about STEM jobs and careers directly from STEM professionals with an array of dynamic speakers, activities, and one-on-one discussions. Learn more about this year's event here!
