Sarah is a current Chemistry major in the class of 2023, from Tucson, Arizona. She joined the Rowan lab in March 2020, and currently works with Nick Macke to develop various types of cellulose nanocrystals that can aid in the creation of sustainable polymeric materials. When she’s not doing chemistry, you can find her running, doing the NYT Crossword, drawing (occasionally), baking, or playing with her cat, Miso.
Sarah’s current research is on the synthesis and characterization lignin-coated cellulose nanocrystals to be used in sustainable polymeric materials.
