Originally from White Bear Lake, Minnesota, Paul earned his BS in polymer science and engineering from Case Western Reserve University in 2019. As an undergraduate, he conducted research on bio-based polymeric films and layered, fire-resistant aerogel composite systems under the advisement of Professor David Schiraldi (CWRU) and Professor Miguel Sánchez-Soto (Polytechnic University of Catalonia). He also worked at Covestro in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he designed polyurethane systems for automotive and other niche applications. Paul joined the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering and the Rowan Group in the fall of 2019 and is working toward his PhD in molecular engineering.
Paul is currently researching the synthesis and characterization of poly[n]catenane and polyrotaxanes.
