Non-degree Visiting Student Research

We welcome students from other institutions to come to the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering to conduct research with us.

If you’re interested in becoming a non-degree visiting student researcher, familiarize yourself with our faculty and their research areas. Then, reach out to a faculty member to inquire about the possibility of joining their lab as a non-degree visitor.

After a faculty member invites you to join them as a non-degree visiting student researcher, you will be contacted by a member of the Dean of Students Office with information regarding next steps. If you have questions, contact us at pme-admissions@uchicago.edu.

For more information on non-degree visiting student researcher status at the University of Chicago, see the University of Chicago Student Manual.

Tuition and fees

As a non-degree visiting student researcher, you must pay tuition and fees. This includes a student services fee covering health services and other on-campus services. You are also required to either purchase health insurance through the University or provide documentation of existing coverage.

Educational costs include more than required tuition and fees. Tuition and fee information is available on the Bursar’s office website. For the full cost of attendance, please visit the Office of Graduate Financial Aid website.
