- Description:
ENGINEERED IMMUNOTHERAPIES BASED ON MOLECULAR ASSEMBLY
Immune Engineering seeks to apply engineering approaches and design principles to create new technologies that can elicit predictable and therapeutic immune responses. Our research group has worked recently to design supramolecular (self-assembling) biomaterials based on peptides and proteins towards a range of infectious and inflammatory diseases.
This talk will describe supramolecular immunotherapies designed to raise anti-inflammatory responses in acute inflammation, psoriasis, and arthritis models. The technologies described feature modular assemblies of multiple defined peptide epitopes that raise therapeutic B- and T-cell responses. Targets include the inflammatory cytokine IL-17 as well as inflammatory components of the complement cascade, namely C3dg and C5a.- Contact:
