Zijing received his Bachelor’s degree from the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Tsinghua University, China in 2017. While in college, he worked on designing and synthesizing advanced electrochemical catalysts for the oxygen reduction and oxygen evolution reactions. Zijing joined the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering at the University of Chicago in 2017 as a graduate student and currently works under the supervision of Seth Darling and Shrayesh Patel.
Zijing's current research focuses on advanced materials for water treatment and selective ion transport properties in aqueous systems. In particular, he is interested in Janus membrane systems and is working on osmosis energy harvesting.
