The Science and Engineering Industry Expo 2024 is our annual recruitment and career exploration event that connects employers in industry and government to UChicago's PhD students and postdocs in PME, and other STEM divisions on campus. This two-day event features a virtual day on September 10th and an in-person day on campus on September 11th. Registration information will be available in the summer.

RECENT ENGAGEMENT (Winter Quarter 2024)
We engaged with employers and organizations in a variety of ways such as hosting information sessions, company visits (treks), as well as recruitment and networking events for the PME community. Recent employer engagement included AbbVie, CBC, NIST, ORISE, Charles River Associates, NanoPattern Technologies, and many more.

The Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering (PME) actively supports employers in their engagement with our undergraduates, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers. PME graduate students and postdoctoral researchers receive advanced training in a cutting-edge research environment and develop professional competencies as an integrated part of their overall education and training. The PME’s focus on both interdisciplinarity and excellent communication skills makes our students and postdoctoral researchers unique and well-prepared to make an impact across a variety of career paths.

Our goal is to provide both trainees and employers a mutually beneficial means of connecting in the world beyond the classroom and research laboratory. We develop custom recruiting plans tailored to company-specific needs, connecting talent with companies and organizations in a variety of ways.

We encourage you to learn more about how the research, people, and facilities at the PME can help your company advance and innovate.

Our employer engagement team will meet with you to discuss your recruitment needs, and develop a plan that meets those needs and your budget. In the call, we can discuss:

  • Efficient ways to source interns and full-time hires from PME
  • Best practices for engaging with undergraduates, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers during the recruitment process
  • Targeted resume books to meet your criteria and hiring needs
