Ruben Verresen is an assistant professor in the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering at the University of Chicago.
Verresen received his B.Sc. in 2012 from KU Leuven in Belgium, and M.Sc. degrees from the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in 2013 and the University of Cambridge in 2014. He obtained his PhD in 2019 from the Max-Planck-Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems (Technical University of Dresden). From 2019 to 2024, Verresen was a postdoctoral researcher at Harvard University - the first four years as a Harvard Quantum Initiative Postdoctoral Fellow, and the last year with joint postdoctoral appointment at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 2021, he was awarded the Otto Hahn Medal from the Max Planck Society.
