Description:

Topology, Twistronics, Interactions and Their Databases of Materials

I will present an overview of the way our understanding in topological materials has developed, with particular emphasis on the fact that topological and atomic indices can induce a classification of compounds into a "periodic compound table". I will then show how this was useful in finding new properties of known materials and how topology has seamlessly entered the field of twisted 2D moire materials. From its inception, the field mixes topology and interactions and has led to the recent discovery of Fractional Chern Insulators. I will then show how, in unpublished work, one can obtain a catalogue of twistable materials, of which only a very very small part has been investigated experimentally.
