Zhao Wang was born and raised in LiYang, China. He earned his BS degree in the Department of Material Science and Engineering at East China University of Science and Technology and his MS degree in the Department of Polymer Science at the University of Akron, working with Professor Stephen Z. D. Cheng. In 2013, he moved to the University of California, San Diego for his PhD study, working with Professor Nathan Gianneschi mainly on bio-related polymeric materials. In July 2017, he moved to Northwestern University as a visiting predoctoral fellow. Following this, he joined the Esser-Kahn Lab as a postdoc.
