Zhiying was born and raised in Shanghai, China. She earned her bachelor's degree in Material Chemistry from Fudan University, where she conducted research on layered cathode materials for aqueous zinc ion batteries and optimized flexible organic field-effect transistors. Following this, she pursued a master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering at Northwestern University. She joined the de Pablo group in 2024, where she began studying molecular dynamics simulations for sustainable energy applications. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, exploring hidden corners of the city, relaxing by the lake, and playing with her cats.
