Mat Schnorenberg received his AB in biomedical engineering from Harvard University in 2014. He then came to the University of Chicago as an MD-PhD student. After completing his first year of medical school, he began his PhD in molecular engineering and is co-mentored by Professor Matthew Tirrell and Dr. James LaBelle.

Mat's PhD work is aiming at combining the LaBelle group's peptide-based cancer therapeutics and the Tirrell group's micellar drug delivery system to rationally design a modular drug delivery system that protects the drug on its journey in the bloodstream, helps it find a specific cellular target, and enhances its efficacy at its subcellular molecular target.
