Amanda Marciel received her BS in chemical biology from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2008. She obtained her PhD in biophysics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2015, where she developed a synthetic platform for production of non-natural polymers for materials assembly and single molecule dynamics working under the supervision of Professor Charles M. Schroeder. In 2015 Amanda joined Professor Matthew Tirrell's group as a postdoctoral researcher in the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering at the University of Chicago. Currently her interests include complex coacervate formation.
