The next generation of molecular engineers visited the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering (PME) last week for its annual Admitted Students’ Weekend.
The event, held March 11 and 12, welcomed students from around the globe for two days of presentations, discussions, and guided campus tours, giving attendees an inside look at the cutting-edge research underway at Pritzker Molecular Engineering. It was the first time in two years that admitted students’ weekend was held in person. An additional virtual event was held on February 10 and 11.
Over the two-day visit, students attended presentations and engaged in discussions with leading experts from PME’s three research themes: immunoengineering, material systems for sustainability and health, and quantum engineering. Science was a central theme, but the event’s focus was on the students themselves, a message echoed by Matthew Tirrell, dean of PME.
“The Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering is the only school of its kind in the country and the first one dedicated to engineering systems from the molecular level up,” said Tirrell. “But our objective here is all about you. Our faculty members are invested in your future. We will teach you the skills you’ll need to achieve your goals, and we will open your mind to new possibilities, new worlds of what you can do with your own education and your own creativity.”
