Melinda Wesonga
Associate Dean of Students for Recruitment & Student Financials
Melinda Wesonga manages student financials, including PhD stipends, and PhD and MEng tuition and fee accounts. She serves as a resource for faculty and current students on financial questions and concerns. Melinda supports PME recruitment and admissions efforts, with special attention to increasing enrollment in the Master of Engineering program. Jared Magill
Executive Director of Information Technology
Jared Magill serves as the senior strategic technology leader for The Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering at the University of Chicago. He is responsible for shaping the strategic vision and driving innovation to enable sustainable growth through client-focused, collaborative, and scalable IT frameworks. His expertise spans technology strategy and execution, digital transformation, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, business process optimization, and compliance frameworks, while fostering a culture of service and collaboration to empower the UChicago PME faculty, staff, and students.
Elaina Eichorn
Social Media Manager
Elaina Eichorn is the Social Media Manager at the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering at the University of Chicago. In this role, she develops the school’s social media strategy, creates and curates digital content across platforms, and collaborates with faculty, students, and partners to amplify key initiatives.
Karen Wigle
Operations Associate
Karen Wigle is the Operations Associate for the PME leadership team. With 17 years of experience in Higher Education and expertise in calendar management, event planning, research, and outreach, she plays a crucial role in keeping things running smoothly.
Karen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a minor in Sociology from Indiana University and a Master of Arts in Health Communication from DePaul University.
Kristi W. Bain
Institute Manager, Chicago Quantum Institute
Kristi W. Bain oversees Quantum administrative strategy and operations in support of Quantum faculty, students, and postdoctoral fellows.
Kristi holds both a BA and a Master’s degree in History from the University of Missouri-Columbia, as well as a PhD in Religious Studies from Northwestern University. Her diverse academic expertise is complemented by extensive experience in research administration, having worked at the University of Cambridge as the Head of the Research and Collections Program, and Saint Louis University, where she developed and managed strategic plans that support and institutionalize vital research projects and centers.
Erika Roditis
Assistant Director, Grants & Finance
In her role as Assistant Director, Erika supports overall PME financial analysis and reporting, forecasting, budget preparation, payroll, and strategy. She also supports sponsored research administration trend analysis and troubleshooting, procurement, and capital expenditures. She serves as a liaison to the PME thematic areas, including budget planning, forecasts, and remediating issues as needed. Erika works closely with PME leadership, faculty, program staff, and other administrators to optimize future grant funding while strengthening the management and monitoring of current sponsored research projects. She also works closely with central units such as Financial Services, University Research Administration (URA), and Procurement Services to ensure that all necessary financial data is captured across PME’s portfolio of sponsor-funded research projects, gifts, endowments, and operational funds. Erika brings over 17 years of higher education budgeting, finance, and grants administration experience, most recently as Assistant Dean for Budget & Operations at Columbia College Chicago.
Sonja Coates
Assistant Director, STAGE Initiatives and Operations
Sonja Coates is Assistant Director of the Scientists, Technologists, and Artists Generating Exploration (STAGE) Center at the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering (UChicago PME), responsible for facilitating new strategic initiatives, program development through grants and fundraising, fostering organizational partnerships, and overseeing day-to-day operations. She coordinates STAGE-specific projects and serves as liaison for larger PME initiatives, interdepartmental efforts, and external partnerships.
She holds an MA in Humanities from the University of Chicago and a BA in Literature from Franklin University in Lugano, Switzerland.
