Description:

Nanophotonic engineering with quantum materials

Nanophotonic engineering offers powerful methods of tailoring light-matter interactions. By manipulating optical environments at the nanoscale, we can influence the rate, direction, and spectral distribution of
spontaneous emission. In this talk, I will present our approach to nanophotonic device fabrication using templated atomic layer deposition of TiO2 and discuss its integration with quantum materials. This
approach builds high-quality optical devices without exposing underlying materials to damaging fabrication processes, critical for integration with diamond color centers and two-dimensional semiconductors. I will present our work building high-Q resonators on diamond membranes, an electrically controllable chiral optical interface with 2D semiconductors, and multi-resonant bullseye antennas.
