Jun Huang received his MS in chemical engineering and PhD in bioengineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He did his postdoctoral research in immunology at Stanford University.

Huang started his academic career as a faculty member in molecular engineering at the University of Chicago in 2015. He is a recipient of the American Cancer Society Scholar Award, Lynn Sage Research Award, NIH New Innovator Award, NSF Career Award, the Cancer Research Foundation Young Investigator Award, CBC Catalyst Award, and the NIH Pathway to Independence Award.
