Khan Alam

Khan Alam is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM). He has received his M.Phil degree from Quid-i-Azam University, Pakistan and PhD degree from Ohio University. He has been a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Chicago and resident associate at Argonne National Laboratory in Professor Supratik's group before moving to KFUPM in Fall 2018. In Supratik's group, he was responsible for setting up a growth and characterization facility for oxide thin films, which includes a semi-automatic molecular beam epitaxy equipped with RHEED and RGA, RF sputtering system, plasma-assisted atomic layer deposition system. His research was focused on growing and characterizing rare-earth oxide thin films for neuromorphic applications and quantum information processing.
