Description:

Development of Quantum Devices and Interfaces

Dr. Bhattacharya is a Physicist within the Materials Science Division at Argonne National Laboratory, and senior CASE scientist at the University of Chicago. He received his Ph.D. in physics at the University of Minnesota, studying high-temperature superconducting oxides. Dr. Bhattacharya now leads a group at ANL, leveraging molecular beam epitaxy to design quantum devices composed of correlated complex oxides and semimetals, then studies these materials to understand their charge and spin transport properties. As a CASE senior scientist, Dr. Bhattacharya works closely with the Pritzker school of Molecular Engineering, mentoring students as an advisor and collaborator. If you’re interested in Ph.D. research at Argonne, come on out and learn more in this seminar! This event welcomes participants from all backgrounds and attendance is open to all.
