PME Special Seminar: Multiplexed Synthetic Immunology
- When:
- Thursday, June 20, 2024 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
- Where:
- ERC 201 & Zoom
- Speaker:
- Daniel Goodman, PhD., University of California San Francisco
- Description:
-
Dr. Daniel Bryan Goodman is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, San Francisco, advised by Alex Marson and Kole Roybal, specializing in synthetic biology, cancer immunotherapy, and high-throughput genomics. He holds a PhD in Bioinformatics and Integrative Genomics from MIT, where he worked with George M. Church. Dr. Goodman's research focuses on precision engineering of primary T cells, clonal tracking of engineered cells, and designing synthetic receptor signaling at scale. His work utilizes computational models and pooled single-cell assays, incorporating machine-learning-driven protein design to understand and control the dynamic functions of immune cell populations. His "Multiplexed Synthetic Immunology" seminar will explore these innovative immune cell engineering approaches and their potential therapeutic applications.
