PME-Polsky Innovation Series: Beyond the Root: Transformative Problem-Solving
Research is about problem solving - asking the right question is the most important element in it. Taking a holistic view of the problems helps in creating outcomes which have industrial applicability. The Root Conflict Analysis (RCA+) - not be confused with root cause analysis - is one such tool. This is a causal analyses tool to help understand the causes the lead to the problem. The other tool is the Ideal Final Result (IFR) audit. By thinking about the ideal solution first, we can remove the constraints in our thinking and identify the gaps between the current solution and the ideal solution. Summary of all the three sessions will be presented.
This is part of a 3-part series, presented by Dr. Narayan Subramanian at Polsky. All PME graduate students and postdocs are welcome to attend.
Lunch is provided, so registration is required by May 6. If you register past this date, you are welcome to attend but lunch is not guaranteed.
If you require any accommodations or have any food allergies, please reach out to Briana Konnick (bkonnick@uchicago.edu) or Vipul Sharma (sharmav@uchicago.edu) directly.
