- Description:
The NCI CAP-IT Center for LNP RNA Cancer Immunoprevention
Recently, cancer prevention strategies have undergone a major paradigm shift. Primary cancer prevention is now thought best targeted to individuals with increased cancer risk resulting from inherited cancer predisposition (e.g., Lynch Syndrome [LS]), a personal history of pre-malignant neoplasms, and selected others patient populations. In parallel, paradigm shifts have occurred in our understanding of cancer genomics, immune surveillance, and RNA vaccines. Today, these paradigm shifts are converging in the newly emerging field of cancer immunoprevention. The CAP-IT Center for LNP RNA Immunoprevention is architected to pre-clinically develop, formulate, and validate LNP RNA immune prevention and interception vaccines for different pre-malignancies. Progress in vaccines for Lynch syndrome, constitutional DNA mismatch repair deficiency, lung adenocarcinoma, and the Oncogenic microbe Fusobacteria nucleatum will be presented.
