Molecular Engineering for Sustainability: An Introductory Bootcamp

When:
Tuesday, September 6, 2022 1:00 pm - Thursday, September 15, 2022 5:00 pm
Where:
ERC 161 and 201B
Description:

This free Bootcamp aims to inspire graduate students across disciplines to engage in current sustainability challenges. Focusing on accessible language and engaging conference-style discussion, we will introduce the motivations, scientific concepts, and active projects in sustainability research currently being explored in the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering (PME) to tackle these challenges, namely energy/energy storage, materials such as plastics, water innovation, and computational methods. Our goal is that participants will gain a baseline understanding of molecular engineering and the technical challenges PME researchers face to contextualize application within their own fields of expertise, potentially inspiring new and innovative avenues of collaboration and interdisciplinary research.

This bootcamp is funded by UChicago’s AI-Enabled Molecular Engineering of Materials and Systems (AIMEMS) for Sustainability NSF Research Traineeship (NRT) Program. For more info, go to nrt.pme.uchicago.edu.
