Jennifer S. Huber
Jennifer Huber is a Ph.D. physicist who worked in the field of medical imaging research for 20 years at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. She has published over 90 peer-reviewed international journal articles and has received research funding through the Department of Defense and the National Institutes of Health. She is now a full-time science writer, editor, and writing instructor. She specializes in teaching scientists and engineers how to communicate clearly, concisely, and accurately for all audiences. She regularly teaches technical writing workshops for Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, universities, and biotech companies. - Description:

These virtual workshops on grant writing will train scientists and engineers to become more effective and confident writers. They will describe the specific challenges and common mistakes of writing grant proposals. The lectures will focus on funding research through the National Science Foundation, the Department of Energy, and the National Institutes of Health, but other funding opportunities will also be mentioned. The workshops will entail a combination of lectures, individual exercises, and small group exercises.

Session 3: Funding your Career Development June 6, 2025, 1:00 – 3:00 pm This course will focus on how to write training and career development grants, such as research training fellowships and the National Institutes of Health’s career development K-series awards. Postdocs will participate in a small group exercise, analyzing a career development grant example.
