Shankar comes from the state of Kerala in India, a place known as "God's own country." He did his integrated BS-MS at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata and joined PME in 2018. For his master's he worked on ultrafast carrier dynamics of topological insulators and other condensed matter systems. Currently, his research focuses on the entanglement of ultracold atoms in telecom regime for long-distance quantum communication.
In his spare time, he wears black cape and protects Gotham City.
