Gustavo R. Perez-Lemus graduated as a physicist and he did his PhD in molecular simulations of liquid crystals in the group headed by Professor Jacqueline Quintana-Hinojosa as part of the Chemistry Institute at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. He also worked as a teaching assistant at the same institution. Currently he is a postdoctoral researcher at the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering in the de Pablo group.

His research interests include ligand-protein and protein-protein interactions, atomistic and coarse grained simulations of liquid crystals, polyelectrolytes, lipid membranes and their interactions at interfaces.
