Giulia Galli elected AAAS fellow

Professor Giulia Galli was elected as a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Six University of Chicago faculty members were elected as AAAS fellows, although Galli is the only one elected in the Section on Physics.

Galli was one of 388 newly elected AAAS Fellows who were recognized by their peers for their efforts to advance science or its applications. The new AAAS Fellows, whose names were published in the November 29, 2013, issue of Science, were honored at the AAAS Fellows Forum on Saturday, February 15, 2014, during the AAAS Annual Meeting in Chicago, where they received a certificate and a blue and gold rosette as a symbol of their distinguished accomplishments.
